Spring Fever

I love spring! Today was a great example of a spring day. It was warm and breezy. Being out side just felt so good. Jace and I went out to lunch. I was looking lovely... and didn't even care. I'm feeling so horrible lately that I really don't even get dressed. Oh well! :)

After our yummy lunch we went to pick the boys up. I took the three of them to the park after. I was looking forward to them running some of their energy off, while I enjoyed some sun. About ten minutes into the afternoon both boys needed to go potty. This was a new park for us and to my surprise- no restrooms. So I gave them 5 more min's to play and we hopped in the car and headed home.

Lo and Gav were both super sweaty, and I realized they were wearing long sleeves and jeans. Definitely time to brake out the summer clothes. We had packed away their summer clothes (mostly just shorts) in the storage unit. I was sure most of the shorts would be too small, since we had to buy all new jeans this fall. My plan is to take the ones that don't fit to kid to kid. With the money I get back I'll get them a few new pairs to start the spring with.

Great plan- all in all. Except that before Dustin left for basic training he decided to cram as much crap in the storage as possible. When I say cram... I mean it. There was no rhyme or reason, no plan or thought put into it at all. I knew this would be no small task. Yet I was determined.

It took me about ten minutes just to open the storage, and a good 45 minutes to get to thier summer clothes. I sorted through them all and had the boys try on most of them. Out of probably 30 pairs of shorts, maybe 6 still fit. I now have a huge basket of shorts, bathing suits, dress pants, dress shirts, and a few tshirts to take to kid to kid tomorrow after our movie.

I hope I get back a good enough amount of money to get them a few cute outfits for spring. I spent the evening browsing online for the best deals. I'll let you know how well I do! :)

No phone call tonight. Maybe tomorrow... my luck he'll call right in the middle of the movie. Still no word on his assignment, and it's getting down to the wire. Hopefully not too much longer til we know.

Two in a Row!

Two days in a row I've gotten a phone call from Dustin! Yay! It's like christmas. Tonight we got to talk for a half hour. It really makes my whole day better when I get to hear his voice. I'm hoping now with more regular conversations that we'll not have to spend so much time on business and get to spend more time just chatting. Jacey talked to him a lot tonight, and asked him a few times when he was coming home. He just told her, "soon", and "it's almost time". The boys were to busy enjoying their dinner to care about talking on the phone. Those kids and their food!

It is 4 days until my surgery and I am getting anxious. Not really nervous, just anxious. I can't wait to feel better. I'm hopefull that the recovery won't be as awful as I've heard it will..... mind over matter right? We'll see. I'm just lucky to have my Mom coming out the day after, and my mother in law the day of, to drive me around and take care of kids. I am so glad to be staying one night in the hospital. I can't wait to have someone take care of me for a change.

With this though comes the packing to get ready. Why does packing stress me out? It just does! And of course my house will need a good deep scrubbing before so I don't have to worry about it while I'm down. 4 more days.....4 more days....

Logan's toxin A came back negative. This doesn't mean he doesn't have C diff, just means we have to wait 5 more days to find out if his toxin B comes back positive or not. If not he doesn't have it and we try to figure out what is causing his pain. Long as it can wait til I'm recovered I'm okay.

Gavin and Jace have been good..... well... healthy. They have been fighting like crazy! They love to piss eachother off, then tattle about it. I need to come up with some good ways to stop this. Maybe a marble jar..... we'll see.

It's late, and I was a good Mommy and made peanut butter cookies from scratch. Meaning.... I have a nice mess in the kitchen to go clean up. And my head is pounding, and Daphne is looking for my lap. Better get going!

A Sick Boy

No matter what big event is upcoming Logan finds a way to get sick right before hand. Not his fault, and I feel so bad for him. His C diff is coming back-yuck! I took him into the pediatrician today because he was in so much pain. His specialist just wanted to be sure it wasn't something else wrong too. So now we wait for his test results to come back, to see how they want to treat it THIS time.
Lets hope he gets better quickly, I have my surgery in less than a week! How can I have surgery if he's in the hospital? Man... always something!
I did get a phone call tonight! Yay! We only got to talk for two minutes but it was still great. I can't wait for him to come home :)

just a few more!

Logan's almost 11 !!!!

As usual I will post a few pics of the birthday boy!

Ikea Day!

Mom's, Ikea is the place to go! I had a non productive day today... I think I'm getting a bug. Have thought so for a day or two but didn't want to admit it. So late this afternoon I finally showerd and got dressed. Jace and I headed off to pick up the boys from school. We stopped for gas and it was then I realized I had left my purse home. So we ran back home, got the purse, back to the gas station for gas. Got all the way across town to pick up kids.

I'd decided it was too nice of a day to just come back home and mope around and let the kids make me crazy. So I started driving to Ikea, but didn't tell the kids where we were going. Guessing the "surprise" is half the fun.

I checked all three kids into the daycare. They almost wouldn't take Jacey cause she's so tiny, and Logan was actually too tall. I made a sad face and they took them any way. YES! An hour to myself... and NO cost. The best part is the kids were happy to go. What can be better than free sanity?

I wandered, trying to make some final decissions in furniture for the kids rooms. After an hour (it went fast) I went back and got the kids. We explored downstairs and I showed them some of the new stuff we would get for their rooms. How funny it is to see a 7 year old get excited over a dresser!

I had promised them a treat if they were good at the very beginning of our adventure. My kids never forget about promises of food. I checked the time as we were nearing the checkout stands, 5:00. I decided to just feed them dinner and be done with it.

Where can you go and get 8 hot dogs, 2 sodas, 2 bags of chips, and 3 packs of cheese sauce (my kids love it on hotdogs) for $7.50?? I have I said yet how much I LOVE Ikea? Love it! Logan argued that 'dinner' didn't constitue a 'treat' and talked me into frozen yogurts too.

We drove home, and the kids cleaned the table for me, so they could begin the art project I found while wandering. The little plastic beads that you design on peg-like plastic boards, then iron to fasten..... great! I didn't even mind that I had to sweep up dozens. All three kids really enjoyed it, and stayed busy until it was time to get ready for bed.

After I tucked them all in, they refused to settle down. Then I hear a loud thud..... Jay fell off the top bunk. Ugh! I calmed her down and she layed right down and went to sleep. **makes mental note to go check for concussion after this post** Finally some quiet.

With quiet though comes the lonelies. I'm actually used to it now, so it's more like boredom. I guess I could go do the dishes.... but why ruin such a great unproductive day? Great thing is they'll still be there tomorrow.

So I am left with my many thoughts now about wether Dustin was able to go meet with the assignment office or not today. His DS seemed very proactive by helping him check the computers last night, maybe that means he got to go??? Not holding my breath. Seriously, married couples need to talk more than every week or two.

I guess it's time for some sleeping pills and a nice bubble bath to end my great day.... right after I check on my little monster princess!

Another weekend down!

Saturday I was plagued with sinus headaches the majority of the day. I really didn't mind, it gave me a reason to lay around with my phone in my hand while I waited for Dustin's call. I also enjoyed a great nap, still phone in hand. I got up to discover a messy house, like usual. If I'm out of the family room for any amount of time... it's a wreck once I return.

I showered and got everyone dressed, in green. We headed out to a friends house for her annual St. Particks Day Party. My kids love to go there, and fortunately for me, they are a military family. Needless to say there were many other military families there as well. Not army like us, but airforce. Still... close enough.

It's nice to be around a group of people who know first hand what I'm going through. They're also much farther along in the process and have great advice for me. Whew, thank goodness for friends and cutting loose! I have made many a friend at these parties.

Today, since we partied hard last night, we tried to sleep in. Getting Gav and Jay to sleep past 7 on weekends is like pulling teeth, but today it was 8 before I heard them up. Logan and I slept in much longer. Gav and Jay must have been super tired, because they faught all day! I'm ready to put them in a ring and let them have it out. Only problem is I have a feeling that 28lb Jay would take 80lb Gav no prob.

I did the minimal today, dishes, picked up a bit, cooked, bathed. That's it, oh... and I waited! lol The waiting paid off though when with one hour left, my phone rang! We didn't have much time to just 'chat'. We had much business to discuss. How boring! I deal with the business end of running this house on a daily basis, so really I don't want to spend an hour talking to him about it all. I want to hear cute things like how much he misses me! :)

He agreed to ask for Ft Lewis after I gave him some info on our choices. I am not sure he was convinced, but he's going with it, I'm sure mostly to please me. Let's just hope his DS lets him go to meet with the person in charge of assignments in time.

About 20 minutes after we got off the phone, my cell rang again, but with a tenn. number. I was about to hop in the shower so I ignored it, thinking if it was important they'd leave a message. Right after, as I was starting the water, my house phone rang, machine picks up...it's hubby! So I ran to get it. He was sitting with his DS (so I'm assuming on her phone) and needed to know his AKO user name and password. I gave it to him. He calls back ten minutes later, it wasn't working. So I hopped on and reset it, so he could get in. They were trying to see if he'd been reassigned yet. I never did hear back, so more waiting.

It dawned on me tonight how fast this was coming to an end, and how quickly things will get busy again. I need to invest in some new rubber maid totes, and begin some of the packing process. Yes, I know the army will pack and move for us.... but not with my house like this! I need to do some major cleaning out of drawers, and closets, and cabinets. It's time to throw out things that are just occupying space. Good thing my Mom is coming to visit for a week! Upside is I need to make some final decissions on furniture and bedding for the kids, and that excites me! I love to shop! Yay shopping!

I'm very hopeful that this week will be great, my last week before surgery! I also hope that I get a few more phone calls from hubby. It really sucks to have no contact for weeks at a time. **crosses fingers**
