Baby Love!

It's no secret... I am a baby addict. I love everything about new babies... the tinier the better!

My sweet friend had a baby a couple weeks ago, and some how we started talking about pictures... I offered to come take some newborn pictures for her.

We had SO much fun playing with Mr B. He's so stinkin cute! Really it was a blast, and I couldn't wait to get home to start editing them and see if we got any good ones. I never know... since I pushed "some button" on my camera, and now there's a menu style box displayed on top of every picture that it shows on the back. Nice right.... when the camera is smarter than the person taking the pics?

I shared with her my photography style... basically I just pretend I know what I'm doing- and occasionally I get lucky. That's all. Same as sewing. I like to wing it. The results are super unpredictable. Never know when I'll get something good... usually it's a complete flop. I give all the credit to the camera... so basically anyone willing to shell out the money could get equally good results.

In fact... I bet if I posted the pictures before I edited them, she'd think the couple hours we spent were waisted. LOL Great thing that photo editing software!

The reason behind this informative service announcement is now 2 of her friends want to pay me to take pictures of their kids.... I died laughing!

My answer.... "I'd love to." "But I could never charge".

We'll see how this goes! The hubby is prematurely excited. He's already seeing dollar signs. I think he's seeing them heading in the wrong direction though ;)

DONE.... almost.

So, it never fails, Dustin always tries to suprise me when he comes home from the field. Always. I've never once been able to go wait in the parking lot with all the other wives to happily greet her stinky dirty husband.

Mine... likes to lie to me. So that he can be dropped off at our house, while I'm still in my pajamas, usually baking, in a house that is still not quite clean enough for a proper homecoming. I'm not really sure why he does this! I've told him there is really nothing that exciting about it... and I look forward to the day I can go get my husband like all the other normal wives.

Either way, now, I've come to expect this. So near the end of his time out, I begin to go into super slueth mode decoding his every text message. I even check his story with random wives and other soldiers. This time it paid off!!

My friend (who is leaving me *sad*) just had a baby, so her hubby got to stay behind and enjoy being a new Daddy. He got to be in charge of all the guys coming home. Guess who has a flight list? Uhmmm hummm..... he sure did. I had shared my unwelcome suprise homecomings with my friend a few days before... so when she got the news... I got a call! HAHAHAHA!! I WIN!!!

I still played it cool... my plan was to not let him know I knew... and show up at company with the other wives. Pretty darn sneaky right? It would have worked... but he totally slipped up tonight and spilled the beans. Ofcourse I had to rub it in that I knew. Pshhhh. Otherwise.... I wouldn't have won. I'm all about winning.

The one day early is really not working into my plans though, and I'm kinda wishing he really was waiting til friday to come home! HEHEHE. So now it's 12:30am... he's sleeping, and I'm up doing laundry and trying to keep myself entertained long enough to get the house decent. He said he didn't care if the house is spotless... ( I laughed- hard) is it ever spotless? We do have 3 slobby children, and I am only one (lazy)person.

I'm so happy I won this round! But even happier to have him home :) Messy house or not!

Happy Birthday Gavie!

Gavin is 9!

Gav has had a great year! Heis an orange belt in Tae Kwon Do, loves to read, draw his own silly comics, play on the computer, and dance!

For his birthday this year, he chose to skip the party in exchange for a fun day with mom and a cool gift.

So, I will be picking him up early from school. We are going to go out to lunch, just Gavin and I! Then we are heading to the book store with his gift card from Grandpa to pick out a new book. After that, we're going to go to Target to look at some toys. We will most likely have to be done at this point so we can pick Jacey up from preschool. If other plans work out though, we will head to the fabric store where he will pick out fabric for his gift from us.

Gavin has been wanting a "fuzzy pillow (like the one you made Dad)and blanket to match". I'm even going to let Gavin help make them!

We are going to have pizza for dinner, and a small birthday cake.

THEN!!!! Since Dad isn't home til Friday- We are going to go have a nice birthday dinner out and do cake again!
