Christmas in July

I'm done shopping. Well..... like 90% done.

Can't beat that feeling!

Anyone want to know what we are getting???

A vacation (kinda) to.....

Great Wolf Lodge!!

The other 10% of my shopping will include hitting the clearance racks for flip flops, swim suits, beach towels... ect

Can you imagine opening that on christmas morning?? The the last big box will have a note telling them to "go pack their bags"

We check in the monday after christmas and are staying 2 nights!!

I think I'm more excited than the kids are!

Leaving Duke

When my husband and I began our secretive talks about wether or not we were ready to be dog owners again I was very realistic.

Being in the military means we live away from family members. We don't really have any friends we'd ask or impose our dog on. I told my husband we would need to know from the beginning, if we vacationed... the dog would have to be boarded.

Duke is only 6 months old and we are planning our first family vacation since we got him. He is still a baby... and a TON of work. We are trying to plan a two week vacation.

Boarding is about $25/day. We are looking at about $350. to leave him here.

Hubby already broke rule # 1 and asked a friend if he'd be interested. Wich he really was. He wanted to have him. His wife however... good thinkers that we are... said they'd not be able to have him.

I went and toured the facilities. Got paperwork filled out. Informed hubby how much it would be.

NOW!!! he has found "some guy" who is willing to watch him for us.

I never thought I was "one of those pet owners"... but I just don't feel okay with it. I'm usually the one giving him a hard time about babying him and telling him "it's just a dog".

And now... since I just found out it will cost me $80 to let the boys get tested for their yellow belts in Tae Kwon Do.... I'm feeling a little differently about "some guy". All of a sudden "some guy" sounds great.

Dear Army,

Dear Army,

We turned in leave paperwork a week ago. We were told we could chose the first two weeks or the last two weeks in august. We picked the first two so my hubby could spend his 30th birthday with his family.

Now, we are less than a week from the dates we chose and still have not heard if leave will be granted. I have a dog to board, 3 kids to pack for, sport instructors to notify, doctors appointments to schedual.... and I can't do any of them unless I know when we are going. we are low on milk.... do I go buy more? I can't leave a fridge full of groceries for two weeks to spoil!

Please removed your head from your hind end long enough to see that this isn't working. I need more than a few days notice to plan a two week vacation.

Thanks,

Benedryl Coma for me today!

Me getting to church......

Lately it seems it just can't happen. Here's my track record....

Last week: I was sick

Week before: My Dad was arriving to visit

Week before that:Had to move myself and three kids out of our house and into another... alone.

Week before that: In california

Week before that: In california

Week before that : I can't remember.... sick kid I think.

So, last night I was determind to have everything ready so I'd have no problems getting there. I was excited to go see friends too. I love our ward!

I was packing Dustin's lunch and fixing some kiwi for him. I thought I'd go ahead and cut up a bunch of fruit for the kids for breakfast. (one less thing to do in the morning-right?)

By the time I was done my arms were covered in hives. I'm guessing I'm now allergic to Kiwi too. I took some benedryl and motrin and went to bed. I woke up at 7 with a swollen face, and still had hives.

I took more benedryl and went back to bed. I figure as long as I'm breathing and swallowing okay I should be fine? Well.... I don't feel like sitting in the ER with 3 kids right now so I'm rolling with the "I'm okay" attitude.

Hey- atleast the kids had food made for breakfast!
