Dilemma

I guess if this is my biggest concern right now then things are going pretty well. Still though it's bugging the heck outta me! I need help, prefferably from a professional. Since I can't afford that, I bring my problem here to you:

The Family Room

It's not huge, but not too tiny. It is oddly shapped though and making it difficult to place furniture. Add to that the gorgeous 55" black hole that adorns the wall with it's stream of wires...... I'm at a loss.

I need to purchase some peice of furniture to sit under our black hole to help anchor it and make it part of the room. I just don't know what! AND our budget is approprietly small meaning anything I "like" is way out of range.

My husband is calling me a snob, just because I think it would be waistfull to just buy something that will "get the job done". If it's not what I really want and will be replaced then why waist the money? Common sence tells me to wait til I can afford something I really want, but everytime I walk into the room I want to turn arround and walk right back out.

HELP!!! Any suggestions?

Need a good laugh?

In true Courtney fashion, I've been.... uh.... misplacing things lately. Last week it was my debit card, wich has failed to reappear. A few days later, it was my military ID card. I didn't panic, just figured it'd turn up sometime or another, usually right after I replace it.

The down side to this card being "misplaced" (lost) was that I can not leave post without it, or I won't be allowed back into post (home). Not so good. Following yesterdays trgic shooting and the previous days discovery of a child molester hiding out in the woods on post, security is undoubtedly on high alert.

This afternoon Dustin told me to go ahead and go get another one. Getting the first one wasn't fun, but I figured a replacement couldn't be as bad. Boy was I wrong! I tried to convince Dustin to join me, since people in uniform are always served first, but he kindly declined. I can't compete with a comfy couch and big TV.

So I got dressed, hair and make up too for pictures sake. I got to the ID CARD FACILITY and went inside. The lady behind the desk asked where my power of attorney was..... "Um... don't have one" I said. She said I had to have my sponsor there then. BUT- first I had to go to the MP station (military police) and file a report! What????? It's just lost, probably in the garbage is my guess.

Ugh..... I drove to the MP Station and went in. Wrong door, went back out, found the right door. I told the guy behind the desk that I've lost my card. He gives me the same line... "You have to have your sponsor accompany you or have power of attorney. So I headed back home.

I grabbed Dustin and we headed back down to the MP's. I got the paperwork filled out and we headed over to the ID card place. We took our number and found a seat. From there things went smooth and I got another lovely picture on my new card. Dustin had been having issues with his too and ended up getting a new one himself.

We made a few other stops, grabbed lunch and headed home, new ID cards in hand for security. Once at home and lunch over Dustin decided to start a load of laundry- who knows why! BUT..... here's the good part.

In my jeans...... he finds....... MY ID CARD!!!!! At least now I have a spare right?

How today really went......

I did get up early.

I did not start cleaning.

I did have a fever.

I did not have to sit infront of the computer all morning.

I did unload the dishes.

I did not load the dirty ones in the sink.

I did make lunch for the boys.

I did not eat anything healthy myself.

I did have a fever.

I did not have to sit on the computer all afternoon.

I did let the kids play with the slip and slide.

I did not play with them.

I did make a super yummy dinner that everyone loved.

I did not to the dishes that I added to in the sink.

I did tell hubby I'd do them anyway.

I did not argue when he did them for me.

I did eventually get the downstairs cleaned.

I did not even care though.

I did finally take some medicine.

I did not take it at a very smart time.

I did get a call back from JPPSO.

I did not flip out when she said they lost our file.

I did get a call from the CF nurse about an earlier appointment for Logan.

I did not call and schedual dentist appointments.

I did at least attempt to go to bed with my husband.

I did not wait very long before I was back infront of this computer.

Anyone else ever have days like this?????

A New Day

I had high hopes for today, then woke up with a fever and obviously a sinus infection. Here's what I had planned on accomplishing today:

I'd hoped to have the whole house scrubbed down since we've been here a week. I'd wanted to have it done by 11am so I could have time to make hubby something to eat when he and Fischer get here. (more PAWS talking) It's now 9:45- wish me luck!

I had hoped that today when I called JPPSO I'd get an actual person on the line who could help me arrange delivery of our HHG in storage. I left a voice mail and tried not to care.

I want to make chicken cordon blue for dinner tonight, but realise now that I have no ham. Think bacon would work??? Gonna try it anyway.

Got the kids a slip and slide yesterday to hopefully keep them busy and out of my way so I can clean today. Will most likely end up at the ER with one of them and all plans will be thrown out the window!

Ahhhhh..... so great to be a stay at home Mom!

Logan Update #3

Poor Baby! For some reason, probably due to pressure, when he lays down at night for bed he gets terrible headaches. He is beside himself tonight. It breaks my heart to watch him go through it because I know first hand how awful it is. The pressure in his maxillary sinuses (cheekbones) can cause severe tooth pressure/pain along with the rest of the headache. I wish there were something to help him. All I can do is Tylenol. I did sneak him some motrin since it's still over a week til surgery.

I hope he feels better tomorrow!
