1 week down!

So, my new favorite thing to say:
"Quick! Somebody get me a straw..... So I can suck it up!"

I found that so amusing the first time I read it, that now I say it to try to stop myself from having a melt down! I've been saying it often over these last 2 days.

I know I'm surely going to forget to include something, and that this will just sound like lots of complaining to most anyone who reads it.... but when you've only had 5 hours sleep spread over 3-4 days... even small hills feel like climbing mountains.

Duke is sick. He's had a yucky, pussy, red rash on his belly since we came home from great Wolf. I had to take him to the vet anyways, so we had it looked at. Amazingly this dog truly fits into our family, he needs antibiotics to get over it. They also gave him a de worming, vaccine, and he had his flea pill. An hour later, at home, he began vomiting. All over my carpet. Bloody, nasty, mess. At this point I'd been up over 48 hours. And got to sit and "keep an eye" on my sick dog. Another visit today and they switched his antibiotics. More money. Lovely.

Duke is starting training! Woohoo! He's a smart dog, and really, for a 1 year old male lab, he's very good. But.... I want one of those dogs that everybody loves to be around. I want a dog that will listen all the time wherever we may be. I read somewhere, "you only get out of your dog what you'll put into your dog". So, we are putting as much as we possibly can into him. He will also be attending doggy daycare. Don't laugh. Never thought we'd be "those people".... but it's important.

Jacey can read. I was informed by her preschool teacher on Thursday, that its time to invest in some simple rhyming style beginner reader books for her, because she's been reading them at school with great success. She says that Jacey will most likely go into kindergarten already reading.... possibly writing. That is if she doesn't make me absolutely crazy so I ship her off somewhere.

Logan has started a tutoring program at school. He goes 2 days a week and if he completes 10 weeks, he get a gift card for $100. It's great! Only problem is it's on Tuesdays and Thursdays... which means my busy days just got busier.

While taking Duke to the vet, I met an awesome mom of a little 8 month old boy who has CF. His name is Logan too. We traded phone numbers... she's the vet tech who took care of Duke. Valuable number to have ;)

I bought some shelves to organize my bow room closet (about time). I managed to get everything drug out, and about half of it sorted.... before life interrupted. Now it's been sitting there like a super mess waiting to be taken care of. Hopefully tomorrow! (I said that yesterday too)

I had to run some paper work into Brigade for Dustin's lasik. Then the following day, while dropping off a treat for Lola (Duke's friend) one of Dustin's sergeants asked if I'd heard back. I told him I hadn't yet but wasn't sure if maybe Dustin had. He shook his head and said he'd call. Twenty minutes later he called me with a date and time for surgery. How super sweet that someone would care enough to take time out of their day to help us out!

Today was the last day I get to have phone contact with Dustin. We got to talk for about 45 minutes, then said our goodbyes. Two weeks til I hear from him again.

I got a text message from a friend today, while grocery shopping (yuck!) that she was being admitted to labor and delivery and induced! Yay for new babies! I got a picture tonight, he's too cute! Last I heard he was in the NICU still. Hopefully all is well and I can visit them soon.

Tomorrow Duke has class, then home to clean clean clean. Then getting the bow room done, and working on finishing up some orders I should have had done three days ago! I'm trying to keep these next two weeks as busy as I can so that they pass quickly. Hopefully they go a bit smoother than this first week though.
